MAIT Seeks Tax Slab Reversal of IT Hardware

Pointing to an anomaly in the GST scheme for computer hardware, the Manufacturers Association of Information Technology has asked the government to change the new 28% tax slab selected for printers and monitors to the previous 18%.

Nitin Kunkolienker, President, MAIT, said that the finance ministry must address the anomaly in the GST scheme regarding monitors, printers, and projectors. He also said that these along with other accessories such as cables must be put under the 18% GST tax slab for the “Digital India” movement to be successful.
