Majority of Indian Firms Believe GDPR Can Improve Privacy

According to a recent survey by Data Security Council of India (DSCI) and Deloitte, around 71% of Indian companies believe that European Union (EU)’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will push innovation by ensuring privacy in businesses. They also said that it will help provide better services to their clients.
GRPR was enacted by EU on May 25 as a regulation that can protect the privacy of EU citizens by laying down the foundation of rules that govern the movement of data between businesses and customers.
Indian companies are still adjusting to GDPR, as 28% of the small firms are yet to make the required changes in their data-related policies and mechanisms.
