Malaysia Economy Growing Fastest in Two Years

According to the central bank, Malaysia economy grew fastest in the past two years in the first quarter of this year, citing a jump in exports and increased domestic demand as the reasons.

While the growth rate of Malaysia economy stood at 4.1% during January-March last year, this year it increased to 5.6 percent during the same quarter. This figure actually surpassed by the one forecasted in a survey by the Bloomberg News, which was 4.8%.

According to Bank Negara, the growth rate is likely to stay the same for the year as the global economy is showing signs of improvement.
