Maruti Suzuki to Shut Gurugram, Manesar Plants for 2 Days

This Wednesday, automaker Maruti Suzuki said that it shall temporarily stop the production of vehicles at its Manesar and Gurugram plants. This move is an attempt to combat the sales slump in the auto sector.

According to an official statement from the domestic automobile manufacturer, production at the two plants will be shut on September 7 and 9. This will be a first for the company in the past three decades.

Many automakers in India are taking steps similar to Maruti Suzuki as they see sales plunging for the 10th consecutive month in August.
