Microsoft to invest in India’s ShareChat

Microsoft is in talks with Indian social media platform ShareChat for funding of around $100 million, in line with reports. Sources within the recognize have informed Mint that if the deal materializes then Microsoft’s investment will be a third of what ShareChat became trying to boost in its brand new investment round.

However, it is likely that Sharechat will boost finances from existing investors before remaining offers with new ones, some other supply said. This cope with Microsoft may take a few months to close and the talks are in very early tiers, resources said.

Microsoft is currently negotiating the acquisition of TikTok’s operations inside the US and some different markets from Chinese employer ByteDance and reviews have it that Microsoft may also be looking at obtaining TikTok’s India market and the European marketplace. Microsoft’s interest in ShareChat even as negotiations with TikTok/ByteDance are nevertheless on is all the more exciting since ShareChat has a TikTok rival too.
