Minting of ₹10 Coins Halved Due to Shortage of Raw Material
The central bank RBI has slashed the production of ₹10 coins by nearly half due to a delay in the procurement of raw material. As per the official documents, the Reserve Bank of India has ramped-up the production of the smaller denomination coins to make up for the shortage of ₹10 coins.

The four units of Security Printing & Minting Corporation of India Ltd. (SPMCIL) that are located in Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Noida have been asked to mint 200 crore pieces of ₹10 coins instead of the original order of 400 crore pieces.
