Modi Government May Rollout Ujjwala Plus for Free LPG This Independence Day

The government is planning to announce the Ujjwala Plus program which will provide free LPG connections to the economically weaker sections of the society on this Independence Day.
The Ujjwala Plus program is an extension to the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) which is providing free LPG connections to the women of the below-poverty-line category. However, the government will accept donations for the Ujjwala Plus program from individuals and organizations, unlike PMUY in which the funding was arranged by the government only.
