Modi Govt. to Open 4 Mega Food Parks in 3 Months

The government said that it’s picked up speed for the development of food processing industry and is set to open four mega food parks within three months. Its keen interest in the food processing industry stemmed from the 300 proposals that it received for new cold chain projects.
Since 2014, 63 cold chain projects have been approved by the government, and new proposals have also been received.
Union Minister of State for Food Processing Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said the fact they have received 300 proposals shows that there is a lot of in the country is interested in food processing industry. She also said that many of such proposals were from the north-eastern states such as Manipur, Nagaland, etc.
