Modi to Flag Off Kochi Metro Project on June 17

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the highly-anticipated Kochi Metro Project on June 17, as confirmed by the Kerala’s CM office.
One of the main reasons why Kochi Metro Rail Project is much-awaited is because it’s the first public organization to offer reserved jobs for the transgenders. The 5,182-crore project even gave training plus appointment to 23 transgenders for a variety of jobs such as manning ticket counters, housekeeping, etc.
To ensure a smooth operation of the first phase of the Kochi Metro, 600 trained women have been employed from the Kudumbasree Mission.
