Most Indians Would Share Personal Data with Banks in Exchange for Discounts, Says Survey

According to a new survey report by tech giant Accenture, 7 out of 10 people in India won’t mind sharing their personal information with banks and insurers to get discounts on various products and services. It said that the customers share information about their lifestyle and location, etc. without any hesitation.

The global Financial Services Consumer Study is based on the inputs provided by 47,000 customers in 28 markets out of which 2,000 customers are located in India. It says that while 81% of consumers want to protect their personal data, a third of the Indian consumers would readily share their personal information for benefits like personalized offers and discounts.
