National Retail Policy Proposed by DPIIT in its 100-Day Action Plan

A national retail policy has been proposed by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under its 100-day action plan which aims to support the growth of domestic trade. An official said that the policy will support the sector’s development and benefit as many as 65 million small traders across the country.

It’s worth noting that the traders’ body Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has requested the government to formulate a policy like DPIIT’s many times in the past.
