Natural Gas Price May Soon Increase by 14%
September 14, 2018
The government is planning to increase the price of natural gas by 14% from October onwards, a decision that can result in increased costs of electricity and CNG, sources said.
They said that from October 1, the price paid to most of the natural gas producers in India might be increased to $3.5 per million British thermal unit from the current $3.06. The confirmed news is expected to come around September 28.
The price of natural gas is set half-yearly in India based on the rates in the gas-surplus nations like Canada, US and Russia.
