Nestle to invest billions for recycled plastics packaging
January 20, 2020
Nestle is under pressure as the company is at the forefront of criticism on harming the climate for its plastic created packaging.
The food giant Nestle said that it will invest up to $2.07 billion dollars to start recycling its plastics and reduce its use of new plastic by 2025.
They have promised to make their company completely reusable or recyclable by 2025.
“We are high up on the list because we are one of the largest companies out there in packaged goods and now we’re also taking pretty big steps in using our size to actually solve the problem,” Nestle chief executive Ulf Mark Schneider told journalists.
Nestle also plans on launching a 250 million franc sustainable packaging food venture to provide funding for startups in that particular space.
