NITI Aayog Releases a 3-Year Agenda for Economy Improvement

NITI Aayog issued its three-year agenda today that proposes a slew of changes for the improvement of agriculture, taxation, and energy sectors and increased employment opportunities.
Some of the suggestions provided in the agenda cover:
- Expanding tax base, simplifying taxation system, and checking tax evasion.
- Creating an institutional mechanism to encourage competition, improving government regulation in assorted sectors, and bolstering public procurement system.
- Making conversion rules from one use to another more flexible, releasing potentially available urban lands and creating a better floor space index
- Increasing government expenditure on the public health sector and launching a National Nutrition Mission.
