Odisha to Get a Coastal Economic Zone as Centre Takes Steps

The central government is planning to establish a coastal economic zone (CEZ) in Odisha by merging the Dharma and Paradip ports to boost economic activities.

According to NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, who recently met with the Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, by integrating the two port regions of the state, we can open a gateway to a massive economic development. He said that such kind of potential is difficult to be identified elsewhere in the country.

Patnaik commended NITI Aayog’s move and said that the state is committed to developing the Dharma-Paradip area as a top economic zone.
