Online grocery shopping saw 80-100% rise in sales of staples in the urban cities this weekend.
Big Basket CEO Hari Menon said, “For the last two days we are seeing an increase in number of orders and the online platform is also seeing large number of users”.
The authorities are requesting citizens in the country to stay at home, while corporate are allowing work from home facility to their employees due to the virus outbreak. Rise in demand is also leading to delay in the delivery of orders.
