Payments Via Aadhaar Payment Bridge Jump 113%

Compared to the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) channel which saw a 7% hike in disbursements in April 2017, the (APB) Aadhaar Payment Bridge saw a much greater 113% hike with the total payments standing at Rs. 4,209 crores. More than that, its share in the total transfers has also increased to 43% in comparison to last year’s 21.57%.
Although there are a total number of 138 different central schemes that are ready for DBT, the majority of the disbursals were made via only three schemes, which are LPG-PAHAL (at Rs 2,584 crore), Pradhan MantriAwas Yojana-Grameen (at Rs 2,751 crore), and MGNREGS (at Rs 3,937 crore).
