Pune Metro Ropes in European Investment Bank to Fund First Phase With 600 mn Euros

To fund its first phase of the Metro project, the Pune Metro Rail is going to raise 600 million euros from the European Investment Bank.

Brijesh Dixit, Managing Director, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (Maha-Metro) announced that Union Ministry of Finance has got EIB to fund 600 million euros for the project. Various options are being considered to fund the remaining 245 million euros of the 845 million euros project, including KFW Development Bank and AFD (France).
