Ravi Shankar Prasad to Meet Industry Leaders on June 16 to Discuss Digital Economy Boost

The IT ministry has summoned industry leaders to discuss the development of a roadmap that could make India a $1 trillion digital economy. The meeting scheduled for June 16 and chaired by law and IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, will be joined by Flipkart Founder Sachin Bansal, NIIT Group chairman Rajendra Powar, and several other leaders.

Ministry of Electronics and IT Additional Secretary Ajay Kumar said that the government plans to make India a $1 trillion digital economy as soon as possible, although that’s just a milestone. He also said that we can reach the target in the next 7 years considering today how the $450 digital economy is growing.
