RBI directed by Information Commission to Release Names of Mega Loan Defaulters

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been directed by the Central Information Commission (CIC) to issue the names of the big loan defaulters whose cases are under the resolution process.
A plea was filed by activist Nutan Thakur earlier based on the lecture of Viral Acharya in 2017 which is what pushed CIC to make the move. Acharya had said RBI should focus on stressed assets as per the recommendation of the Internal Advisory Committee (IAC).
