RBI Looks to Launch App for Identification of Currency Notes

Central bank RBI is planning to release a mobile app that can help visually impaired individuals to identify currency notes. The following are the banknotes that are currently in circulation- Rs. 2000, 500, 200, 100, 50, 20, 10, and 1.

RBI said that it’s important that visually challenged people can identify banknote denominations so that cash-based transactions can be successful. At present, currency notes of ₹100 and above have intaglio printing based identification marks to help visually impaired to identify the notes.
