RBI to Soon Provide Guidelines for Customer Protection Against e-Banking Frauds

RBI’s Deputy Governor SS Mundra has said that the central bank is working on customer protection guidelines that will minimize their liability in fraudulent banking transactions in the form of unauthorized debits from the internet banking accounts or credit/debit card accounts.It has also sought suggestions from the concerned stakeholders for the same.

Mundra said that while technology has improved in the delivery of banking services in the past few years, it has also increased the security threats as instances of net banking frauds, thefts of personal information, etc. are becoming common.
