RBI’s Top Level Recruit Prachi Desai Quits After Two Years

Prachi Desai, who was one of the early senior level executives recruited by the RBI for the position of specialist advisor has applied for resignation even as she was yet to complete three years, sources say.

Desai was hired by former Governor Raghuram Rajan while she was working with International Monetary Fund (IMF) but her appointment didn’t go well with many of the senior officials of the central bank. However, she is considered as one of the chief contributors towards ‘inflation targeting’ that RBI adopted in 2016.
