Regional Rural Bank Employees to Get Pension Comparable to Nationalized Banks

As per a recent ruling by the Supreme Court of India, employees of the Regional Rural Banks (RRB) will now receive pensions that are at par with the nationalized banks.
RRB employees and unions were demanding the pension hike for decades. In fact, they were fighting a legal battle for nearly 20 years.
The Supreme Court verdict is expected to benefit nearly 27,000 RRB employees who are retired.
