Revival of MTNL, BSNL on Top of Centre’s Agenda

One thing that’s on top of the new government’s agenda is to save the two dying telecom companies which are Mahanagar Telephone Ltd and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. With a revival package worth ₹ 18,000 cr, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) will approach the Cabinet for the approval of funds.
A senior official of DoT said that restoration of BSNL and MTNL are the top priority for the department. However, preparing for 5G spectrum auctions also remains a major consideration for the government.
