Rs. 1 Notes in Circulation Soon, RBI Says

After many years, the Reserve Bank of India has decided to release currency notes in Rs. 1 denomination in the circulation. The notes have already been printed and will be lender tender as per Coinage Act 2011.
The central bank has also released the physical details of the Rs. 1 notes. It will be rectangular with the dimensions as 9.7 x 6.3 cm. It will weigh 90 GSM (Grams per Sq. m.) and have a thickness of 110 microns.
The watermarks on the new Rs. 1 notes include a hidden numeral “1” in the middle, an Ashoka Pillar in the window, and a Hidden word “भारत” on the right side.
