SBI to Meet 10,000 Farmers on June 8 to Understand Their Financial Requirements

As the Kharif season is coming closer, India’s largest lender SBI has decided to organize a mega farmers’ meet on June 8 where it will try to better understand their credit requirements. The meeting will be hosted at about 15,500 semi-urban and rural branches across the nation.

As per the lender’s statement, during the meetings the bank’s branches will receive loan applications from the farmers and also modify their existing loans as per their requirements.

According to Rajnish Kumar, SBI Managing Director, farmers will get to enjoy an interest rate of only 4% per year for crop loans up to Rs. 3 lakhs.
