SEBI Orders Axis Bank to Probe WhatsApp Leak

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has directed private sector Axis Bank to conduct an internal investigation regarding the reported leak of its June-quarter earnings data on WhatsApp.

Sebi said that the messages making rounds on the social media platform “almost matched” the actual financial results of the lender and has asked it to inquire its employees to find out who initiated the leak.

Axis bank has been asked to submit the findings of the leak within the next three months.
