Suspense Over Banned Currency Notes to be Over in Two Weeks

In the next two weeks, the Reserve Bank of India will finally have to reveal its one of the biggest secrets- the total number of demonetized currency notes that didn’t’ come back to the central bank.

To this day, RBI has not disclosed the total number of banned notes that weren’t deposited by the individuals or businesses. However, it is set to have a meeting with its auditors at the end of the month in which the discreet figure will have to be brought to light, as informed by a key person in the matter. This is because RBI can’t complete its balance sheet for the year without writing down the “missing notes” which are a “liability” and thus have to be provided on the balance sheet.
