To make Aadhaar enrolment easier and more convenient, the Tamil Nadu government has launched a new scheme that offers doorstep service for kids below the age of five.

The ₹136.1 million scheme was officially launched by the state’s Chief Minister K Palaniswami this Monday during which he handed over 7 Aadhaar kits to officials of the Social Welfare Department which can be used by them to collect biometric data of the children from their homes.

An official said that apart from kids, the government will also set up camps in villages to make Aadhaar enrolment easier for pregnant and lactating women as well.
