Tamil Nadu to Introduce GST Bill on June 14

Tamil Nadu government has decided to present the GST bill in the state assembly session scheduled for June 14. The announcement was made by state Finance Minister D Jayakumar who was addressing the members of the GST council at a recent meeting. He also urged the council to reduce the GST tax rate for the entertainment industry to 12% so that local bodies can apply their own tax. He also sought a lower GST rate of 5% on general cooking ingredients such as masala powder and other spices, and water sold in refill cans.
