TCS bags $1.5billion contract as it expands partnership with Pharmacy giant Walgreens boots

India’s biggest Information technology company has bagged a $1.5 billion contracts from pharma company Walgreens Boots Alliance, spread over a period of 10 years to transform the IT’s operating model.

The expansion of TCS and WBA strategic alliance is based on the WBA’s review of its IT operating design and vendor landscape.

According to the sources, TCS is going to provide managed assistance including application support and assistance, infrastructure and security options and the WBA IT team will focus on leading and maintaining strategic technology designs that create customer value through the development of new digital products and services on its business platforms.

WBA Senior VP and Global chief information officer Francesco Tinto said, “strategic alliance with IT giant will help us improve our capacity to quickly address emerging business needs, support large scale global technology solutions and promote investment in truly differentiating abilities through a modernized platform.”
