This Friday, Investment fund SoftBank Vision Fund and auto giant Toyota announced that they would invest 1 billion USD in Uber to promote the development of driverless ridesharing services. The investment comes at a time when Uber’s planning a public share offering which is expected to be largest that the industry has seen in a while.

Uber had earlier received 500 million USD from Toyota which is actively working on manufacturing self-driving cars.
