Traffic Police Will Soon Have to Accept all Digital Documents for Vehicles
To ensure that the state transport authorities and traffic police accept digital versions of various documents of the vehicles such as pollution certificates, driving license, etc. the union government is planning to amend the Motor Vehicular Rules (MVR).

The government’s DigiLocker service which is a cloud-based system for the people to store their documents in a digital format is associated with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The FAQ section says that these documents can be considered as an alternative to physical documents. However, there have been several reports of traffic police not accepting these. To tackle this problem, the government has decided to add a new rule in MVR that will make the system more accepting of these documents.
