Trump Threatens to Slap Higher Tariffs on 200 bn USD of Chinese Imports

This Sunday, US President Donald Trump pressurized China further by saying that he will impose higher tariffs on 200 billion USD worth of Chinese goods. His comments are coming at a time when a Chinese delegation is scheduled to visit Washington to resume talks at ending the much-talked-about trade war that has disrupted the financial markets across the globe.

Trump said that he will increase the tariff on 200 billion USD worth of Chinese products from 10% to 25%. Meanwhile, sources said that the Chinese government may cancel this week’s talks. It’s also worth noting that Beijing has previously addressed US threats by saying that it won’t negotiate under pressure.
