Two Top Executives of PNB and BOI Demoted by Govt.

To expedite the loan resolution process, the government has decided to replace the two senior officials of two of the largest public lenders in India i.e. Punjab National Bank and Bank of India. Thus, as per the changes, Usha Ananthasubramanian have been removed from the helm of Punjab National Bank to be replaced by Sunil Mehta, and Dinabandhu Mohapatrahas been promoted to the position of chief executive officer of the Bank of India, thus replacing Melwyn Rego.

While Rego has been transferred to the Syndicate Bank, Ananthasubramaniam will be joining Allahabad bank. Accordingtoan official, the new positions may be extended up to May 2022.
