UP Looks to Generate Rs. 500 bn Investment in Defence Manufacturing Sector

This Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath rolled out the UP Aerospace and Defence Manufacturing Policy 2018 which is poised to generate as many as 2.5 lakh jobs by 2023 on the back of Rs. 500 billion investment.
The project under the Bundelkhand Defence Corridor will cover 6 districts viz Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Agra, and Aligarh. It will offer a variety of benefits to the participating public and private sector companies
Anul Chandra Pandey, UP chief secretary said that around 3,000 hectares of land will be obtained from the UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) for the Bundelkhand Defence Corridor by September this year. After that, the groundwork can begin, he said.
