Urjit Patel to Appear Before Parliament Panel on July 6

RBI Governor Urjit Patel has been summoned by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance which’s chaired by former Union Minister Veerappa Moily. He is to appear in front of the panel on July 6, when he is likely to be questioned about the deposits made in the banks after the note-ban drive. Previously, he had appeared before the panel in a similar fashion on January 18 but remained absent in the next two meetings along the time citing his preoccupancy with the monetary policy review.
