Uttar Pradesh Excise Revenue Increased 55%, Crossed ₹100 bn Mark

The Uttar Pradesh government collected an excise revenue of ₹100.15 billion between April and August i.e., the first five months of the current financial year. This recorded a growth of 55% on a year-over-year basis as the government collected only ₹64.25 billion last year during the same period.
With an impressive excise duty collection so far already, which is accredited to the new excise policy that prevents liquor smuggling, the UP government is targeting to collect as much as ₹300 billion by the end of the fiscal year 2018-19.
