Women’s join self help groups to fight the COVID-19 battle

Women are making masks in some parts of the country after finishing the household work for the last one month to fight the COVID-19 battle. Women are joining this self-help group which is making masks daily.

Across the country, from six different states, close to 7 lakh women have joined the self-help groups to create masks, sanitizers, running community kitchens, and fighting misinformation during the pandemic.

This initiative falls under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission, it’s a program for the poor people in the rural areas and it is supported by the World Bank. A self-help group (SHG) is serving in 13 states of the country to support the vulnerable people.
