Wondering What Decides the Viral Factor of a Tweet? Study Says First 50 Retweets
April 20, 2019
According to a research paper that was published recently, whether a tweet will become viral or not can be ascertained by analyzing its first 50 retweets. The “infectivity” model that’s based on the concept is designed by Li Weihua and the team from Beihang University, China and is claimed to be capable of predicting the lifespan of a tweet.
The researchers tested the model on 12 million tweets and 1.5 million retweets and predicted the viralness of a tweet on the basis of its first 50 retweets.
