Zomato, Swiggy and many others Drone Delivery Plans approved by government

Drone Delivering foods or medical appliances to your house. Imagine that. Would you like it?

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) approved 7 companies for Drone Delivery Experimentation. They rejected 27 applicants in total due to incomplete information.

The applicants approved were food and delivery companies Zomato, Swiggy and Dunzo, medical delivery providers Zipline and Redwing, and large enterprises like Tata Advanced Systems lmtd and Honeywell.

According to the ET report, the seven firms have been told to submit further technical details.

After the experiments are conducted to the civil authorities, the firms hope to fly drones to few locations in India.
