Social media has become the most powerful platform for global brands to attract new customers and capitalize on the existing ones. In this blog, we take a look at some of the top brands that are doing a terrific job at social media marketing:
Oreo
Oreo is known for its perfect timing and an eye for opportunities on social media. For instance, in 2013 when a power outage interrupted Super Bowl XLVII for more than half an hour, it came up with an ad of a dimly lit cookie that had a caption “you can still dunk in the dark”. It became viral and received 20,000 likes on Facebook and 15,000 retweets on Twitter.
Skittles
Skittles often takes social media marketing to new levels by experimenting with uncommon techniques and strategies. For instance, when its parent company i.e. Mars Inc. joined hands with NFL, it decided to tap into the NFL fanbase market. So, we saw Antonio Brown sharing a video of Skittles vending machine, and many other players sharing images of Skittles care packages, etc.
Nike
Nike goes beyond marketing and advertisement and tries to inspire others through motivational stories, which is also why it’s one of the biggest brands in the world. One of its stories in particular that touched millions of fans was a short film titled “The Winner Stays” which has over 95 million views on YouTube.
GoPro
What makes GoPro different from other brands is that it puts a strong emphasis on sharing user-generated content on social media platforms. It makes complete sense when other users see the images and videos about adventures shared by GoPro users and it makes a huge impact and compels the viewers to try the products themselves.
