1,000 Railway Stations Get Wifi Connectivity in Just 15 Days

Indian Railways achieved a remarkable feat recently when it WiFi-enabled its 3,000th railway station i.e. Ellenabad in Rajasthan. It even managed to connect whopping 1,000 stations in a small period of 15 days. However, it targets providing free WiFi service at all the 6,000+ stations across the nation.

Indian Railways started providing free WiFi service at the stations in January 2016 with its telecommunications arm RailTel, and the first station was Mumbai Central. After 16 months, it had successfully WiFI-enabled over 1,600 stations.
