13.83 Lakh Jobs to be Created by KVIC in a Year

The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) looks to create as many as 13.83 lakh jobs by March 2020 with various initiatives. It submitted a vision document to the MSME ministry in which it said that it’s targeting to generate around 11.3 lakh jobs under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). It said that another 24,000 jobs shall be generated with “Solar Vastra” and around 48,222 jobs with Khadi.
PMEGP generated over 17 lakh jobs between September 2014 and September 2018 and is considered one of the most ambitious projects in employment generation.
