25% of New Vehicles to be Electric: Delhi Govt. Sets Target

As the central government continues to promote electric mobility, Delhi government has started taking some measures on its own. It’s recently set a target of making around 25% of all vehicles that are registered every year to be electric by 2024.  An official said that the same will be explained in detail in the upcoming Electric Vehicle (EV) policy of the state government.

According to a study by The Energy Research Institute (TERI), automobiles are responsible for around 80% of the NOs emissions and 40% of particulate matter.

It’s worth noting that around 700k to 800k vehicles are registered in the national capital every year.
