2,500 FIRs Filed Against Wilful Defaulters till September, Says Arun Jaitley
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley informed the Parliament that more than 2,500 FIRs were registered by the Public-Sector Banks (PSBs) against willful defaulters by the end of September and that the recovery process has started already. He said that as per the records, the state-owned banks have filed 2,571 FIRs so far and 9,363 suits have been filed for recoveries. He also said that legal action has been initiated in 7,616 cases of willful defaulters under the Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002.
