4.2 mn Teachers in India to Get Training Under HRD Ministry

This Saturday, an official said that a project for training the teachers in India, the biggest in the world, will be launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) on August 22.

Rina Ray, Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, MHRD, said that the ministry will launch a training project called NISHTHA (National Initiative on School Teachers Head Holistic Advancement) that will train 42 lakh teachers in the country. She also said that around 19,000 teacher-training institutes across the country are put on Google Earth to help users locate nearby institutes.
