600k Jobs to be Created in India by 2025 Through E-Waste Sector
International Finance Corporation (IFC) which is a member of the World Bank said that as e-waste sector will continue to grow, as many as 450,000 jobs will be generated in India by 2025. It also said that additional 180,000 jobs will be generated in related sectors viz. manufacturing and transportation.

IFC has been actively working in the e-waste sector for many years now and collected over 4,000 metric tons of e-waste in 2017.  

Joint Director of Hazardous Substances Management Division in the Ministry of Environment Sony Singh who was present at a conference recently said that the e-waste sector has a massive potential to generate employment and boost the country’s economy.
