7-8 Lakh New Jobs to be Added by Media Industry in Next 5 Yrs

The government of India has started the process of establishing the National Center of Excellence (NCOE) for gaming, visual effects, comics, and animation. This information was provided by the Economic Survey 2019 which also found that the sector is a thriving business in India and that many big-budget Hollywood movies are also now sent to the country for post-production work that involves 2D-3D conversion, animation, video editing, etc.
As many as 7-8 lakhs are expected to be created in India’s media and entertainment industry in the next 5 years, CII-BCG 2017 report says.
